MATCH PLAY RULES AND COMPETITION BY-LAWS

TFC Cricket Council's Letter to the Teams

Hello Teams,                                                                                                                                    Feb 3, 2010

Please take note of one change to the TFC 2010 schedule. The Telugu Association team has pulled out of the tournament and in their place we have added the Kerala Association of Central Florida team from Lakeland FL.

A warm welcome to all the teams for TFC 2010 !!

- All 6 teams are now final, and the tournament is set to begin on Feb 6th at the Central Broward Regional Park .

- There is no change to the by laws. All team captains to please sign acceptance of the by-laws and bring one signed copy to the first game.

- We do not have any official tournament uniforms for the teams this year. Teams are welcome to use their own uniform. We do request the teams to ensure all players wear the same uniform, or, in absence of a team uniform, please wear whites. No shorts or other inappropriate wear please.

- We will have officially appointed neutral umpires for the play-offs stage, but for the league stage games we will need the teams to provide their own umpires. To avoid any disputes because of non-neutral umpires, we feel that LBW should not be allowed in the league stage games. We WILL have LBW in the play-offs adjudicated by official trained neutral umpires.

- Please note that we MUST make best use of the time when the ground is available to us; therefore, we will enforce time limits strictly, as listed in the by-laws. To avoid confusion and time wastage I recommend bowling 10 overs from each end, instead of switching ends after each over. The matches listed as AM start will begin strictly at 10 AM. The matches listed as PM start will begin strictly at 1 PM. Teams are advised to reach the ground atleast 30-45 minutes in advance of their start times.

- Ideally, each team should provide one scorer to maintain scores in a standard scoresheet format, and both scorers should sit together, preferably slightly away from the rest of the team. Scorebooks can be purchased at any cricket shop for about 10$. One copy of the scoresheet for each match must be signed by both captains and submitted to TFC as the official record of the match, by e-mail, fax or in person at the ground. In addition, both captains should retain a copy also.

Good luck to all the teams. May the best Sindhi Warriors win !! ( just kidding; thats my team :-) ) Seriously though, looking forward to a great and memorable tournament.

Best regards,

Gaurav
