THE RULES OF THE GAME 2009
The following is what has been decided & agreed uponby all teams:
aa) THE TEAMS - we have increased the team total # to 16. Before each match the team will list their playing team - this team to consist of 13 players - 11 starters and 2 substitutes/reserves. There will be no restrictions on using substitutes as far as bowling or batting or fielding is concerned or when and how a Captain uses them.
bb) Of the 16 members listed - at least 8 MUST be "long term members" of the Association.
cc) To make up the 16 members, teams may recruit players from "other associations", these players cannot be active members from / of any recognized cricket leagues or members of a competitive cricketing program (college players and such)
dd) Any team having "League" players as their "long term members" - must identify them as such. There may not be more than 2 such members on a team. We are in touch with the South Florida American Cricket Association who has databases of such league players!
ee) Children of "long term members" who are above 18 years of age may take part. No other children may participate. The child & parents must sign a waiver form.
ff) At any time during a match there MUST be at least 6 players participating who are "long term members" of the Association.
gg) Team member names must be submitted by Friday 13th, March 2009
Submit following
- full name of player
- age
member since (date) or member of which Association
- List “league” members – if any
This list will not be considered final - and can be updated as you want.
hh) GAME DAY - any issues that come up that day - will be reviewed by the cricket board and their decision will be FINAL. Members on this board - Vivek Swaroop, Jotinder Rana & Neville Dias. They are the authority on everything cricket related!
ii) Umpires – We will get professionals - probably from the league - in order rule out any issues regards the correct call of the matches.
jj) UNIFORMS -
- SCOF has already chosen their COLOR - light blue. PASF has chosen – yellow/gold. Other teams will follow with their choices, first come-first-reserve-basis.
- The uniforms and all expenses related to same are to be to the account of the individual teams/associations.
- "thefriendshipcup" will provide a logo - each team to use this - on the front of their shirts.
- The backs of the shirts to have the Association's name or team logo
- Any sponsor's logo may be on the sleeves or other suitable place. Members of other associations may have their association logos also but on their sleeves only
- 16 total guys - sixteen uniforms! NO UNIFORM - CANNOT PLAY!
kk) RULES of the game -
- 15 overs each side - semi-finals AND finals
- Bowlers - 3 overs only limitation
- Any bouncers - called no-ball if shoulder high. One is allowed or may be an error/slippage, if 2 u get a warning, if (3) "three" - the bowler is disqualified immediately from any further bowling! This applies to the entire 3 overs being bowled by a bowler and not to one over! Free hit rule applies (see next line)
- No Ball – free hit next ball – batsman cannot be out in any way except run-out.
- Batsman - maximum stay at bat - 4 overs - i.e. 24 balls - score keepers to keep record
- There will be two "neutral" score keepers for each match
LL) INSURANCE - WAIVER - ALL players will be required to sign a waiver holding the Park, all the Associations & "thefriendshipcup" not liable for any injuries what so ever. These forms MUST be in place for a player to participate in any match.
While some may think these rules cumbersome others will study them carefully and use them to their best advantage. Any questions or suggestions to improve are welcomed by the CRICKET BOARD. The focus has been to be fair, make it competitive, be safe and have fun!

Umpire Association is a Non-Profit Association.
- With 17 members
to start S.F.C.U. Association objective is to service all Cricket Associations
in south Florida for regular, regional, and national competitions as
well as overseas tours.
- SFCUA has a developmental
program to train members as international umpires.

to all cricket clubs and anyone who would like to be an umpire or scorer.

all activities that the respective Leagues engage in.
