THE PRESIDENTS, THE TEAMS & OTHER INTERESTING TRIVIA
Inter-Association Cricket Tournament 2010

“The Friendship Cup”

The Friendship Cup is a unique concept for South Florida, and is primarily inspired and modeled on the huge success of the DLF Indian Premier League T20. Its primary aim being to bring all our various Indian Associations together on a common platform – “Cricket” the sport all we love – create an excitement and relive our cricketing days here in South Florida  – by having a Cricket Mela !

"thefriendshipcup" is a non-profit organization. A few of the many aims of thefriendshipcup organization is to sponsor Indian "youth cricket programs" and encourage the game within all age groups. “thefriendshipcup” is funded by monies that come in from individuals, corporate and small business sponsors and the Associations participating. This year a part of the funds raised will go to a Haiti earthquake relief fund.

TFC Cricket - this second year, we have six associations participating namely SAF, PASF, SCOF, KACF, SFTS & BAPS. We welcome our new teams and we understand two other associations are interested for 2011 and are getting their teams ready. The 2009 tournament was a huge success and we hope that TFC II will be fully supported by the community and our prospective sponsors.

We thank all our supporters and sponsors and wish all the teams the best of luck - may the best team win! Go get the “CUP”!

This year we are of course planning a much bigger and grander event, centre stage. It will be held on Sunday, March 28th from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We are also planning a fun, energetic, spectacular "half-time" show starting at 1:00 PM. Anita Amin of Nrityanjali International Performing Arts (NIPA) and a Bollywood and Folk Dance Instructor and Choreographer is the Chair Person of the half-time show. I will be personally helping her as much as I can. We are interested in folk and popular dances of India - by children and adults too! You can contact Anita Amin at 954-282-1266, also .anita@nrityanjaliarts.com  or contact the undersigned.

Also, if anybody is interested in sponsoring or advertising for this event, there are many opportunities available to suit various budgets. Please get in touch with me and I can send you some information on rates/possibilities or you will find it on this site.

Let's all come together and have tons of fun and a fun day of cricket with a festival like atmosphere. There will be food, drinks, booths, shops, Ace DJ, Dhol walla and various activities for the whole family - children too.

A Cricket Mela ! Entrance to the stadium is FREE!

Looking forward to hearing from all of you - come join us and let's have some good old DESI FUN!

Take care,
Amita Singh
